Kenny Schneider's artistic scope includes painting, drawing, graphics, film, video, public art, digital photography, and sculpture.
His approach to public art is to respond to the disparate elements and create metaphors based on history, geography, humor, environment, etc. Kenny has completed 12 site-specific public art commissions where form or content related to the surrounding landscape, community or physical environment, has been a finalist 8 times and has completed numerous private commissions, nationally. His public artwork has included working on artist-team projects, planning charrettes, as well as working with architects, landscape architects, Dept. of Administrative Services, DOT, general and sub-contractors, public art administrators and city officials.
Kenny’s film screenings include: The Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, San Francisco Cinematheque. He has received numerous awards including: 1999 Visual Arts (3D) Artist Fellowship, Colorado Council on the Arts & the NEA, New York State Council on the Arts (CAPS) Grant-Video. His work has featured in numerous exhibitions and can be found various private collections.
Kenny is a retired visiting professor from CSU-Pueblo and has served on multiple boards.
