As a result of the dedication and efforts of the community, our board and staff and invaluable volunteers, we have succeeded in:
Building reciprocal relationships with local clubs, organizations and associations to support the arts, culture and local tourism, including the La Veta Public School Art Department, SPACe and La Veta School of the Arts (LVSA)
Designing a beautiful, ever-changing and expanding website that features an artist directory and showcase; a calendar for signature arts and culture events in La Veta; and an arts workshop calendar
Conducting a variety of public outreach and publicity activities
Collaborating with La Veta School Art Department and La Veta School of the Arts to host Paint the Town: Painting Birdhouses with Amber Huff
Supporting 2022 Art in the Park with assistance and financial support for the park musician
Hiring our first employee and first artist: Jean Downs, Marketing and Activities Specialist and painter Charity Baker. Charity painted an updated ice cream cone on Charlie’s window.
Hosting multiple popular events, including the Fall Mixer Celebration for galleries and businesses; SPACe gallery’s Adams State Art Faculty Exhibition; Annual Winter Solstice Holiday Bell Ringing; Christmas Tree Decorating in La Veta’s Town Park; and, last, but not least!...First Friday Art Walks and the Annual Holiday Art Walk Fundraiser to raise money for local creative projects and organizations.
